Why Social Media Can Actually be a Great Tool

Way too many of us are using social media the wrong way… and it’s time to start using it correctly ✨✨✨

The reality is that we have complete control over who we follow on social media. We have control over what kind of images, body types, recipes, lifestyles, and points of view we want to see.

I was listening to @melrobbins on @callherdaddy last week, and she said “if you can spend an hour looking through social media for nail designs so that you can take them to your manicurist, then you can figure out how to use social media to get what you want.”

She’s right. There are so many things in our lives that we can’t control, but, like Mel is saying, we have the power to control what comes up on our own feed. All we need to do is be less careless and more intentional in how we’re using social media and the type of content we’re consuming.

If you see a post of someone who makes you feel insecure about yourself, mute them or unfollow them. Who the f actually cares?? Life’s too short. Start following people who post things that make you feel good, are doing what you want to be doing, and leave you feeling inspired.

Social media gets a lot of negative publicity, but it can actually be a great tool. It’s time to stop using social media to make ourselves feel bad and start using it to feel more empowered, supported, and inspired.

p.s. If you fee uncomfortable unfollowing people, try making a new or separate account where you only follow people who you want to follow and spend your time on that feed instead💘
