GOOD BODY IMAGE DAYS + HOW I MAINTAIN THEM

Recently I have had really good body image days. Itโ€™s honestly making me emotional even to write this because I realize it has been months, if not years, since I last felt this way for this many days in a row. Since it feels so freakin good to feel this way, I spent some time trying to think of ways to foster this positive/neutral body image mindset.

1. Smile and wave, baby ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ:

When I look in the mirror and like what I see, I smile at myself, wave, and then WALK AWAY FROM THE MIRROR. If I spend too much time looking in the mirror, I will 1000% end up body checking, dwelling on any flaws, and begin fantasizing about another body. This would then lead me back into a negative body image mindset. So, STEP AWAY FROM THE MIRROR WHEN YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF!!

2. Thumb-to-finger grounding technique๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ:

When I look in the mirror and I feel good, I will ground myself at the moment to encourage cellular memory and anchor the positive feelings. Basically, I like to do this by taking my pointer finger and my thumb and pressing them firmly together a couple of times (hands will be making an โ€œokโ€ symbol). I will ground myself when I feel good (using this technique) so that when I ever do feel those negative body image thoughts creeping their way in, I will do this activity to channel that cellular feel-good-feeling.

๐ŸŒ€Itโ€™s crazy because my body really has not changed, but the way I feel about it has, proving that negative or neutral body image days have nothing to do with my body but everything to do with my mindset.
