THE POWER OF GRATITUDE (+SOME THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR)

I have recently learned that you can either take things for granted or take them with gratitude. lately, I’ve been taking things for granted. I was in a little bit of a funk the other day and noticed many of my thoughts were coming from a negative place. I sat down that night and wrote down 3 things I was grateful for in my journal, and I swear to you, it made me feel so much better. I suddenly started to notice AND appreciate the things around me (big or small). That’s when I realized I needed to do this more often.

Since gratitude sort of comes naturally to me, I didn’t think that I needed to carve out time to write down specific things I am grateful for each day. But, there is seriously a beauty to it, and doing it has already retrained my brain to stay present and see things in a better light. It’s wild how something so simple can have such a big impact.

And…Since life in full color is basically my virtual journal, here are some things I am feeling grateful for after this weekend:

🏙The fact that I live so close to NYC. I never appreciated this because it has been all I’ve known for my whole life. I have taken it for granted! People all over the world dream of going to NYC every day. How cool is it that I can go almost whenever I want?

🍽The ability to eat out at yummy restaurants
